MR. PATRICK SIM

Board Member

Mr Sim never received much in terms of formal education and at the age of 18 left school quickly to enlist in the fledging Singapore Air Force. Being in the first pioneering recruits, he served 6 years as an aircraft technician hoping to somehow get a flying position. It never happened. Leaving the air force, he took up a sales career that led him into accounting systems, cookware and real estate. In 1976, with funds from a real estate career, he funded his own private training to obtain a flying license ending up in being absorbed into Cadet Pilot training with Singapore Airlines. He served 15 years rising to a Senior First Officer and leaving in 1992. He then spent 2 years in association with Orix Commodities and Commodities Corp. in the testing and development of an options trading system. The project came to a halt when Commodities Corp. was acquired in a surprise takeover by Goldman Sachs. Very much a “hands on” person, (All that I have come to know and learn in life, came from all the things that I have done…and all the things I have not!!!) Mr Sim continued with the development of the Arbitraged Options Trading model on his own, a passion of 30 years which resulted into the creation of PS Capital, a private Arbitraged Hedge Fund, presently in a startup stage.
